To

This site
is intended to serve as a gateway to some of the best articles and data
available on the web.
At the
moment, because I was working quickly on the first version of this site, many
of the pages link to my work on my other website, www.TransitionToParenthood.com
Now, I do think
my website is pretty good... J
However, I
am also aware that on specific topics, there are better sites out there.
Unfortunately,
I don’t have the time available to do all the web-surfing needed to find all
the best articles.
So, if you
know of better sources that I could link to, PLEASE let me know.
Essential elements:
- Article MUST, MUST, MUST be
research-based, with sources cited, and up-to-date statistics.
- The theme of the site is “safe birth” and
encouraging parents to make informed choices about the options available
to them in birth. So, all articles must relate to these concepts.
- I certainly have some bias toward
minimizing interventions and maximizing hands-on support, so am especially
interested in articles which have a midwifery model of care bias. However,
keep in mind items #1 and #2.
- I would love to have articles written at
various reading levels. (Some articles written for low literacy may not
have the same degree of source citation as something written for a more
educated readership, and certainly not the same degree as in academic
writing, and that’s fine.)
- I don’t advertise products. If there’s a
great article that happens to share a page with advertisements, I’m OK
with that. But, my goal is to offer links to great articles, not
commercials.
That said, here’s how to contact me. I apologize for writing my email
address in this weird format, but it makes it less likely that spamming searches
can find it and inundate me with mail I don’t want…
